Kari has been an organizational development consultant, organizational trainer and facilitator, and leadership coach for over 25 years. Kari started her coaching journey on an entirely different path than most coaches take. She was an expert in preventing sexual harassment and hostile work environment and was training managers and employees in for-profit companies, non-profit agencies, universities, federal agencies and the Department of Defense. This expertise led to a request from a law firm to coach an executive who had been accused of sexual harassment and Kari’s coaching career took off. She subsequently branched out into other areas, working with leaders and teams, but realized in 2002 that she needed to have a framework and approach for coaching and received her Leadership Coaching Certificate from Georgetown in 2003. Kari still coaches executives accused to inappropriate behavior, but also conducts investigations into organizations where complaints have been made.
As her coaching practice expanded, Kari realized that her passion was helping female leaders make the transition to new positions by becoming aware of self-limiting behaviors and attitudes, create a more positive self-image, develop political savvy, and explore the myths and beliefs that are undermining their effectiveness and develop both behaviors and strategies that enhance their success.
Kari’s other passion is her singing and she serves as a lay-cantor (spiritual leader) for a small Jewish community in Reston, VA. Kari is married and has one daughter, Hana, who lives in Pittsburgh, Pa., where Kari was born and raised.
